Radiation at the University of the Witwatersrand for the CM Johannesburg Academic and CH-Baragwanath Academic hospitals.

He has numerous publications, attended conferences and workshop proceedings and presented keynote addresses locally and internationally. He has occupied numerous academic and professional positions. He was the Chairperson of the Association of South African Nuclear Physicians Vice-president and subsequently President of the South African Society of Nuclear Medicine, Chair and member of the several scientific committees, an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) representative, a Moderator for teaching and examination of the post- graduate students of B. Technology in Radiography at UJ, an IAEA expert for the program of action for cancer treat (PACT) with the WHO. Currently Dr Vangu is the HOD of Radiation sciences and Nuclear medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand, Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee of the CM Johannesburg Academic Hospital, Convener and examiner of the College of Nuclear Physicians (CMSA) Senate member of University of the Witwatersrand, a faculty representative at the University Council Readmissions Committee (CRC) and a member of several professional bodies/ associations both locally and internationally.

For the collaboration, Dr Vangu will be working in collaboration with Dr Wallis on evaluating host responses using PET/CT imaging.
